Digital is not the only communications solution

Combating competion requires us  to be clear and consistently communicate why we are different and better than others in our marketplace. Our potential customers are forming opinions and choosing brands based on information gleaned from multiple media.

Marketing campaigns must take into account all possible sources of information that lead to a customer buying decision; both what we publish ourselves and conversations taking place across digital and other media.

At  Oysterjam  we start with defining the organisation's goals and targets, the brand and its package of USPs.and then ensuring that data informs who we target,for what and how. 

Communications should not only rely on digital media; there is still a place for all other media- (in multiple combinations,) to get the message across: advertising off-line, print, PR, public affairs, events, direct mail, OOH, etc.


Rethink your strategy

New years often bring resolutions and fresh thinking regarding the future direction of businesses, what is important and what should be achieved over the next business cycle and beyond. Attending a recent workshop brought me into contact with Small Businesses who did not have any kind of plan with regard to what they hope to achieve. Strategies and plans do not have to be weighty documents but set the objectives, boundaries and resources and targets which can provide ongoing monitoring, ( as well as communicating with staff with regard to their contributions to success.) Whether ideas in leaders' heads or comprehensive written and published documents, these are all critical to understanding the direction of travel and enabling scrutiny on when, how and if to adjust direction.
